Hey guys! Today, I'm super excited to take you along with me on a typical day at Arkansas State University (A-State). Whether you're a prospective student, a current Red Wolf, or just curious about college life, this vlog will give you an inside look at what it’s like to be a student here. Get ready for classes, campus adventures, study sessions, and maybe even a few surprises along the way!
Morning Routine and First Class
Okay, so my day usually kicks off around 7:00 AM. Yeah, I know, early, but gotta make that 8:00 AM class! I usually start with a quick breakfast – often just a banana and some coffee – because who has time for anything more elaborate? Then, it’s a dash to get ready and head out the door. The good thing about A-State is that everything is pretty accessible. Depending on where you live, you can either walk, bike, or take a short drive to your classes.
My first class is usually something like Introduction to Psychology or maybe a History lecture. The professors here are generally really engaging, which helps a lot, especially when you’re trying to stay awake that early in the morning. What I appreciate most is that they’re always willing to answer questions and offer extra help if you need it. After class, I try to spend a few minutes reviewing my notes. It makes a huge difference in remembering the material later on. I usually find a quiet spot in the library or one of the study lounges in my dorm. These spaces are lifesavers when you need to focus.
Lunch and Campus Life
By noon, I’m starving! Lunchtime at A-State is always a social affair. The dining hall is usually buzzing with students catching up and grabbing a bite. They've got a decent variety of options, from pizza and burgers to salad bars and international cuisine. It’s a great place to refuel and recharge for the afternoon classes.
After lunch, I sometimes have a bit of free time before my next class. During this break, I love to explore the campus. A-State has a beautiful campus with lots of green spaces, perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. The Student Union is another popular spot. There, you can grab a coffee, study, or just hang out. There are always events and activities happening around campus, too, from club meetings to guest speakers. It’s easy to get involved and find something that interests you. One of my favorite things about A-State is the sense of community. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, and there are so many opportunities to connect with other students.
Afternoon Classes and Study Sessions
The afternoon usually consists of another class or two. These might be more specialized courses related to my major, like Digital Marketing or Creative Writing. I find these classes particularly engaging because they’re more hands-on and allow for more in-depth discussions. After classes, it’s time to hit the books. Studying is a crucial part of college life, and finding a good study routine is essential.
I often meet up with classmates at the library for study sessions. Working together helps us stay motivated and understand the material better. We quiz each other, discuss concepts, and share notes. It’s also a great way to make friends and build connections. Sometimes, if I need a change of scenery, I’ll head to a coffee shop off-campus or find a quiet corner in the Student Union. The key is to find a study environment that works best for you and stick to it. It's easy to feel the pressure, but that's why finding a good group and location is ideal.
Evening Activities and Downtime
By evening, I’m usually ready for a break from studying. Depending on the day, I might have a club meeting, a sports game, or a social event to attend. A-State has a vibrant campus life, and there’s always something going on. I’m part of the Marketing Club, so we often have meetings or workshops in the evening. It’s a great way to learn more about the field and network with other students and professionals.
If there aren’t any scheduled activities, I like to spend my evenings relaxing with friends. We might grab dinner together, watch a movie, or just hang out in the dorm. It’s important to find time to unwind and de-stress after a long day of classes and studying. Sometimes, I’ll also use this time to catch up on personal projects or hobbies. Finding a balance between academics and personal life is key to staying happy and healthy in college. As the day winds down, I usually try to get to bed around 11:00 PM. Getting enough sleep is essential for staying focused and energized throughout the week. Then, it’s time to recharge for another day at A-State!
Weekend Adventures
Weekends at Arkansas State University are all about relaxing, catching up, and having fun! After a busy week of classes and studying, it’s nice to have some downtime to recharge. Saturday mornings often start with a late breakfast or brunch with friends. We might head to a local café or cook something together in the dorm. It’s a great way to start the weekend on a relaxed note. After breakfast, I usually try to catch up on any missed assignments or readings. Getting ahead on schoolwork allows me to enjoy the rest of the weekend without feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
In the afternoon, I often explore the local area. Jonesboro has a lot to offer, from parks and museums to shopping centers and restaurants. I might go for a hike at Craighead Forest Park, visit the Bradbury Art Museum, or check out the shops at the Mall at Turtle Creek. It’s fun to get off campus and experience the local culture. Saturday evenings are usually reserved for social activities. There might be a party, a concert, or a movie night happening on or off campus. I enjoy spending time with friends and making memories. Sometimes, we’ll have a bonfire at someone’s house or go bowling at the local alley. The possibilities are endless!
Sunday is typically a more relaxed day. I often attend church in the morning and then spend the afternoon studying or working on projects. It’s a good time to prepare for the week ahead and make sure I’m on track with my assignments. In the evening, I might watch a movie, read a book, or just relax and unwind before another busy week begins. Weekends at A-State are all about balance. It’s important to find time to relax and have fun, but it’s also important to stay on top of your schoolwork and responsibilities. By finding a good balance, you can make the most of your college experience and create lasting memories.
